Teen Summer Reading 2019

June 19th to August 31st, 2019

For ages 13-18. To register for Summer Reading visit maclibrary.beanstack.org or see a librarian at the upstairs Information Desk. On your first visit to the library after you register, please visit the upstairs Information Desk for bookmarks or ask any questions you may have.

Prizes for Pages

Reading gets you prizes at the McMinnville Public Library. Keep track of the number of pages you’ve read at maclibrary.beanstack.org. Not sure how to do it? We can assist you at the upstairs Information Desk. Add up the pages and claim prizes as you reach each 200-page goal.

Most Pages Read Contest

The person who records the most total pages read for Prizes for Pages wins a Kindle Fire Tablet. We'll use the maclibrary.beanstack.org to record pages. All comics, graphic novels, and manga regardless of length will be considered 25 pages.

Most Days Recording Pages

The person who comes into the library the most number of days to demonstrate that they have read 100 pages since their previous library visit wins a Kindle Fire Tablet. We'll use the maclibrary.beanstack.org to keep track of your reading. A librarian can help you record your pages. All comics, graphic novels, and manga regardless of length will be considered 25 pages.

Read Away Your Fines

Are fines preventing you from checking out books? Sign up for Summer Reading and we’ll let you check out one book. If you read 200 pages, we’ll subtract $5 off your fines. Read 400 pages and we’ll subtract an additional $5 off your fines (that’s up to $10 total). If you still have fines after that, you can trade in either your 1,600 and/or your 1,800 page prizes for another $5 each. That makes up to $20 off of your overdue fines. (Program runs 6/19 to 8/31/19.)

Brain Puzzlers

Try these great brain exercises to test your smarts. A new one will be available every other week. Get a Buy One, Get One Free Coupon for Serendipity Ice Cream if you get the correct answer. You’ll only need to solve one of the two puzzles to earn the prize. Look for the forms around the Teen Escape area or ask at the upstairs Information Desk.

Teen Gaming Night

Throughout the school year, Teen Gaming Night is held on the first Friday of every month from 6:00-8:00 pm. However, the McMinnville Public Library will be offering game nights every Friday during July & August. Come to the library prior to the library's regular 5pm closing time. End of Summer Raffle

Raffle tickets you earn during Prizes for Pages give you a chance to win movies, music, books, comic books, canvas bags, & more. These raffle tickets are automatically generated when you hit the 600 and 1,400 page reading goals, so you won't need to make a special trip to fill them out. More tickets mean more chances at prizes, as your name can be drawn multiple times! Raffle winners will be notified shortly after the end of Summer Reading (August 31st, 2019).
