Severe Rent Burden Community Meeting - 2025

On Wednesday December 10th from 5:30-7:00pm, the City and its partners are hosting a meeting focused on rent burden causes and potential solutions.
- In 2018, the State Legislature passed HB 4006. The purpose of this legislation was to direct Oregon Housing and Community Services (OHCS) to assess and identify cities with populations over 10,000 where greater than 25% of renter households pay more than 50% of monthly income on rent (severe rent burden), and then to notify those cities of their status.
- In 2024, McMinnville was designated as a severely-rent-burdened community for the first time.
- In 2025, McMinnville was again designated as a severely-rent-burdened community.

Location : The event will be hosted at the Yamhill County Housing Authority “Stratus Village Apartments” community room (2450 SE Stratus Avenue)

Format: There will be an opening presentation, and then it will break out into an “open house” style meeting with several stations set up by the City and partner agencies/organizations regarding housing resources.
