City Celebrates Completion of Major Wastewater Infrastructure Project

The City of McMinnville is pleased to announce the completion of the Solids Treatment Capacity Improvements Project at the Water Reclamation Facility. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on Monday, August 4 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. to commemorate this investment in local infrastructure.

The $21.6 million project, funded by the City’s Wastewater Capital Fund, began construction in May 2023 and significantly increases the capacity and efficiency of the solids treatment process. Major improvements include upgraded digesters, expanded solids storage, a new odor control system, and modernized control instrumentation. These enhancements ensure the city’s continued production of high-quality Class “A” biosolids, which are used to support regional agriculture.

This effort represents a successful collaboration between the City of McMinnville, Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., and J.W. Fowler, Inc., and demonstrates the City's ongoing commitment to sustainable resource management and environmental stewardship.

Members of the media and public are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The ceremony will be held at the Water Reclamation Facility located at 3500 NE Clearwater Drive, McMinnville, OR 97128 and will include a short tour of the facility and a short project overview by City Staff.

Light refreshments will be served.
