NOTICE OF MEETING

The McMinnville Fire District will hold a Board Meeting on the second and fourth Thursday of every month at 6:00pm. The meeting will be held in the conference room of the McMinnville Fire Station, 175 NE 1st Street, McMinnville, Oregon and Via Zoom.

McMinnville Fire District Creation & Implementation

Thank you to the voters of McMinnville and the McMinnville Rural Fire Protection District for approving the creation of the McMinnville Fire District (MFD). Now we look forward to the important work of getting the district operational, and improving service for all of our residents. The next steps for MFD implementation include:

Board Seating & Orientation

The elected board for the MFD will be sworn in on July 1, 2023 and receive orientation. Their duties will include overseeing financial operations, ensuring the district operates in a legally and fiscally responsible manner, and establishing district-wide policies, among other responsibilities.

District Administration & Fire Service Delivery

McMinnville’s Fire Department will provide services through a contract for six months. During this period, the MFD will secure the necessary licenses and other administrative and operational requirements needed to effectively establish the district. A draft budget will be prepared by July 17, 2023. At the six-month mark, assets and all current McMinnville Fire Department employees will be transferred to the MFD. There will be no disruptions in service for any residents.
