K9’s Axell and Tucker, their handlers and The McMinnville Police Department would like to thank the citizen group who organized and donated to the purchase of ballistic vests for our K9’s. Overall the group raised approximately $9,000, a portion of which was dedicated to the purchase of the vests. The remaining funds will be dedicated toward training and other K9 related needs.

In 2016 McMinnville Police Officers will meet with local citizens at Union Block Coffee for our “Coffee with a Cop” sessions. There are no agendas or speeches, just a time to ask questions and enjoy a cup of coffee. Come join us for the next session, April 4th at Black Rock Coffee between 9am and 10am.

After 6 ½ years of dedicated service to the McMinnville Police Department and the Citizens of Yamhill County,  K9 Arco is retiring from the McMinnville Police Department.  K9 Arco and Officer Justin Zemlicka were first teamed up on March 18th, 2009.  After completing over 400 hours of training they were certified through the Oregon Police Canine Association (OPCA).   Throughout their time together they have been committed to the training required to maintain their certification through the OPCA.  Arco has been deployed over 250 times during his career.  He is credited with 35 suspect captur
